Liquid Lipsticks are the new makeup trend, but while they look gorgeous, they can actually be very damaging. Normal lipsticks are known to dry out the skin, but using a liquid one gives the lips a real beating. So when Studio Gear offered to send me their True Whipped Stain which is touted as the solution to the dilemma of having a gorgeous color that lasts all day and keeping your lips hydrated and healthy I was more than happy to try it out and share a review with you guys.
Alright so these stain lip glosses come packaged very similarly to the Kylie Cosmetics Lip products, but I don't think this was on purpose because they also look pretty similar to the 1D UV lip glosses I reviewed. The tube is clear except for the Studio Gear name in silver and the top is a twist off black lip with the typical (nice) sponge applicator. While they all look great in their tubes I fell in love when I did swatches.
They're all gorgeous! Application is incredibly smooth and easy, you'll only need one coat for full coverage because they're very opaque. They do take a little bit of time to properly dry on your lips, but once they do, these Studio Gear stain glosses are there to stay. You won't have to worry about eating or drinking and loosing your lip color.
From left to right Burgundy, Pebble, Red, Fuchsia, and Wine
Not only that but these Whipped Stains actually seemed to give my lips extra hydration and the fully pigmented color lasted all day. Burgundy is a dark reddish brown that reminds me a lot of the NARS seduction lipstick, Fuchsia a fun cool toned pink that could pass for Givenchy Ideal Fuchsia #9, and now that I made you wait until the very end here are the Kylie Cosmetics dupes. Pebble is very similar to Candy K as well as Koko K like it's the color exactly in the middle on the pink to brown scale, Red is a slightly less orange 22 and Wine is a clear dupe for Kourt K.
Even without being dupes for well known colors I would still love these Studio Gear True Whipped Stain Glosses because they're exactly what I'm looking for in a lip color. Beautiful colors, long lasting, and of course not damaging for my lips.
