Review: Smart Stuff Natural Products

Today is #fitnessfriday and I've been out running around all day. That made me think a little bit about two things that are pretty common especially as the warm summer weather comes around.  While I normally would do something about working out or a related outfit like my serious running outfit I thought that I could do something a little more health related today and talk about Smart Stuff. They make skincare and sun protective items that are natural something that's very important to me

Smart Stuff Natural Insect Repellent - Bugs really bother me something I'm sure a lot of people could relate to. However I don't really like to use bug spray even though I'm afraid of the diseases like lyme disease and malaria (or the Zika virus now) that these pests can carry. It has so many weird chemicals and I'm afraid of them damaging me! So of course I was very excited to try out Smart Stuff's natural insect repellent.

At first I was a little worried because it has a bit of a strong scent and I was afraid this was some sort of chemical thing. However I realized this was actually peppermint oil, one of the active ingredients of the insect repellent. Spraying it on and then rubbing it onto your skin is easy and it actually works! I didn't have any issues on a hike with bugs and no skin irritation either.

Smart Stuff Mineral Based Sunscreen - As I've mentioned many, many times sun damage is the leading cause of wrinkles as well as a big reason for a lot of other signs of aging. So I'm always wearing sunscreens but I have been interested in more natural versions. After Babyganics had a scandal I didn't know where to turn before Smart Stuff. Although it is only SPF 30 I found that it gave me plenty of protection. It feels good on the skin and wasn't oily.

Overall: I love both of the Smart Stuff products I tried and think they're great alternatives to the traditional chemical bug spray and sun screen.

  1. The mineral SPF sounds nice. SPF 30 should be enough if you're not hanging out by the pool all day.
