Review: Exuviance Glycolic Expert Moisturizer

While my pores are probably my biggest concern, both the fact that I get blackheads and that they're huge. I've been trying to combat that a little bit with peels and masks like my Valentia Clay Detoxification mask, and it's helped a lot but I also have another issue that happens on and off. Dry skin. It doesn't happen all the time, so I hate using serums that increase hydration because I ended up with super dewy skin skin, which may sound awesome but when it gets to the point of feeling like sweat, it isn't so awesome. So when Exuviance offered me the Exuviance Gycolic Expert Moisturizer to review, I thought it'd be great to try out.

I've previously reviewed a few other Exuviance products like their performance peel and tinted sunscreen (which I use almost every day) so I did have a little bit of high expectations before even trying out the Glycolic Expert Moisturizer. It comes in their typical white and blue box with some of the product information, like that this is has 10% glycol acid _ collagen building block, that it exfoliates and hydrates, that it smoothes tenure, and helps to firm + smooth wrinkles.  Inside of that is a white plastic bottle with a push down dispenser and a cover for the lid.

My Thoughts: At $45 for 1.7 oz this is quite expensive for a lotion. The main ingredient or "active ingredient" is the glycolic acid. It's made to be absorbed into the skin, exfoliate to enhance skin turnover and remove dead cells, for a fresher skin appearance. It doesn't irritate my skin and has provided some brightness enhancement. However when using it, and up to two weeks later it is suggested by Exuviance that you use sunscreen or avoid the sun because this is a Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) product.

Pros

No oily residue
Reduces Wrinkles
Brightens Skin

Cons

Expensive
Makes skin sun sensitive

Overall if you're someone with stagnant looking skin or concerned about wrinkles I think the Exuviance Gylcolic Expert Moisturizer is well worth looking into. But for me it isn't worth the cost, or increasing my risk of sun damage.

  3. A $45 lotion? Woah. I think it would be nice as a night lotion if it makes your skin sun sensitive. Still, I don't know if I could justify the price.

  8. I doubt I'd be able to spend $45 for a pop of that, but it sounds like a pretty decent product. Thank you for the review, Hanna! x

  9. I am looking for something really hydrating, but I don't like the fact that this cream makes skin sun sensitive. I've got a lot of birthmarks, so I always prefer moisturizers with SPF. Anyway, thank you so much for a great review and have a great weekend:)

  10. Oooh thanks for sharing with us this review. I've been looking for moisturizing products without irritating my sensitive acne-prone skin and I think this would be too harsh for my skin as well.

  12. I think it seems to be expensive for the amount it contains, but the benefits seem to be OK. Although I also have sometimes dry skin, I can't use glycolic acid, due to medical advice :( But would love to be able to, people say so good things about this acid! Hope you have a nice weekend!
