Leonidas the Bearded Dragon

I'd been carpooling to school twice a week with my friend for the last month in a half. The other two days I go in we can't go together because I have a class way earlier in the morning. I kind of wish we would have thought of it earlier in the year though because it still saves a ton on gasoline, and as someone who doesn't like to drive by themselves, stress. Of course every time I go over there I have to make sure I leave with plenty of time so I can play with Leonidas the bearded dragon  Last week I was lucky enough to get to babysit Leo since my friend went back home for the week. This meant feeding him on my way to school and then sometimes on my way home, and of course getting hime out to play.
Here's a photo of Leonidas sitting with me. I actually have a little bit of trouble handling him because you have to support his tail while you pick him up, if not he freaks out. It wouldn't be such a big deal to do but his tail is super long and I can never properly pick him up, without his tail dangling down. Once he's safely supported though he doesn't mind being held at all.
I'd mostly let him run around on the floor and actually got a pretty good shot of him after he climbed up on my backpack.
And this photo that I send to his father! This was after I got him to eat 7 pelts of food ( they're specially for bearded dragons and I put some water on them so he gets hydrated). He was so happy! It makes me smile just looking at it. Below is a video of Leonidas eating and a few extra photos of me making his salad and then random Leonidas the Dragon photos.

  2. he is so adorable! Didn't know about the tail thingy - is it common for them or it's just him?

  5. Such a cute bearded dragon! It's great you got to take care of him :)

I love the bearded dragons here (they are wild here) and always stop to admire them when we pass by. Not all of them will let you get close, but some do :)

  6. OMG he's creepy and adorable at the same time! He looks like he's coming out of a medieval fantasy book.
