10 Amazon Prime Free Television Shows to Watch

While I like Netflix (I more than occasionally use a friend's account), I'm a huge fan of Amazon Prime. I can get music, books, free shipping and television shows + movies all from Amazon Prime for the same price as a Netflix subscription. I also find that the video selection of Amazon Prime is set up a whole lot better, but the only thing is that I have trouble finding new shows to watch. I've done a few google searches trying to find recombined shows to watch on amazon prime, and what I should be watching on my Prime subscription and came up with literally nothing, so I wanted to change that, since I've always had to comb through ratings and reviews So here's my top:

Of course they're all free to watch.
Top Ten Shows On Amazon Prime To Watch

1. Vikings - Amazon Prime has all but the current season of Vikings available to watch. It follows Viking Ragnar Lothbrok and is loosely based on his life and conquests. Starting at the first season I was completely hooked, both for the action as well as the drama and there are so many characters that I love, and more than a few I can't stand. I also might have a huge girl crush on Katheryn Winnick.

2. Vegas - This is one of those shows I could just watch over and over. It's set in 1960's and has all the glitz and glam of the casino world, as well as all the crime. To combat this crime, are three of typical western style heart throb police officers, but the mob bosses aren't a group you'll dislike completely. Vegas is a fantastic take on the traditional Western shows, and my only complaint is that they only had one season.

3. Bosch - Directly after Vegas I went to an Amazon Prime exclusive show. Bosch is a former special forces officer turned detective in the Hollywood LAPD. There's gangs, corruption, and a whole lot of crime and Bosch is enthusiastically investigating all of it.

4. Hand of God - If you're into dramas, it can't get much better than Hand of God. Think Criminal Minds but instead of following the a team of FBI agents, you're following one man. As a judge he sees himself above the law and wants to avenge a wrong done to his family. Making it all the better he's had hallucinations making him think he's doing God's work and enlists help based on this.

5. Boardwalk Empire - The setting is Atlantic City as Prohibition (this makes alcohol illegal), following a group of "businessmen" through bribes, bootlegging and murder. Of course they don't get away with this for long and along comes a federal agent to investigate, causing a huge game of cat and mouse.

6.  Forensic Files - Maybe this shows how uncool I am but I've watched all 15 seasons of Forensic Files that is on Amazon Prime. Often times you know the ending before they get there, which is pretty common with non-fiction shows, but they still do a pretty good job keeping it interesting. And it's nice to see people get what they deserve.

7. Blue Bloods - I love this show and was incredibly happy to see it on Amazon Prime's television shows so I could watch it free of commercials. It's about an Irish descended family in the law enforcement, three siblings and their father who's their boss. The sibling rivalry and competitions are fun to watch and the crimes are interesting without being too graphic or scary.

8. White Chapel - I'm not normally a fan of British shows (except BBC documentaries) but this one I like. It follows three detectives investigating modern crimes that have links to historical homicides. If you're a fan of Jack the Ripper stories or unsolved crime novels you'll be very interested in White Chapel.

9. The Americans  - Two KGB spies, in an arranged marriage are pretending to be an American family, live in Washington D.C. during the Reagan administration. They have two children who don't even know about their true identity. While The Americans took me a little time to warm up to I now hang on every episode, and am so glad they added this FX television series to their lineup.

10. Suits - Seasons 1-4 are available on Prime of Suits and I've re-watched them all. Manhattan's top law firm hires boy genius Mike Ross, an impressive new associate who isn't exactly what he seems. It's courtroom drama at it's best, and while there are clear good guys and bad guys, you can't help but root for both sides.

    1. Yeah! Hand of God gets way better. I think at first they focused a little too much on the Judge being crazy and as it goes on things start to fall together and a few other characters step in that really bring it together. You have to check out Vikings!
