Flowerpot to Candy Dish DIY

I know the "holidays" are over but when I got the chance to make these cute candy dishes I of course took the opportunity. I've been seeing similar things on Pinterest and decided it was about time that I tried making my own. During the first few minutes of doing this project I wasn't all that sure that it would work out because it didn't look right! Luckily I did stick with it and I'm actually very happy with how these candy dishes turned out, and they only took about 20 minutes from start to finish to complete.

1 Flower Pot
1 Glass Bowl
Decorative Ribbon
You should be able to get your flower pot very cheaply, just remember to get the bottom piece along with the main pot. You'll probably have to remove the stickers and then wash them, once dry they're ready to paint. For both of my candy dishes I went with a metallic color, one silver and one grey, but a whole variety would look good. I've seen some very cute purple and green dishes. I ended up using three coats. Once that's done take your glass bowl and put velcro on it so it can easily be attached to the bottom of the pot. Then the last step is decorations. One one I added a big bow and the other some fringe. Then fill them up with candy and place them where you want. I have one on an end-table in the living room and the other on the kitchen counter.
