DIY Simple Watercolor Painting

Today I did another painting "class" at my local library (just like my acrylic birch tree final) this time water painting. I started with the one on the left and then had some extra time so I did the one on the right after I finished. Of course I'm not a fantastic artist, but I do thing this watercolor painting is a fun craft, for decorating and for children. The whole thing takes about 20 minutes.
The first step is deciding what picture you want to use. I went with a selfie I took when Wella gave me a platinum afro. Then take a digital of that picture and put it in photoshop, posterizing it and give it two colors. Then print it out in the size you want your watercolor painting. Once you have the photocopy turn it over and use a pencil to rub graphite on the whole back of it. This sounds weird but trust me. Then flip it over and put it onto your canvas. I taped it to keep it in place. Once that's done, draw over the edges with the pencil which will cause the graphite to wipe off. This is also the perfect tome to modify your drawing. I decided to to ad the necklace, make the dress a little higher and give my nose a better shape. Then just paint like normal water color, being sure to use the darker and lighter shading to your advantage.

And that's it you've got your finished watercolor. Also a bit of a tip when using the pencil something to remember is not too thick with it, or else you'll have to use dark paint to cover it.
