Art Appreciation Final Cardinals in Birch Trees

While I'm still waiting for my official grade in a few classes (it's looking pretty good) but I have gotten in my art appreciation grade so I figured I could share my final project with you guys. Just like my midterm photography project I shared with you guys from the class this final was basically just a participation grade. So don't judge too much, because I'm in no way an artist, although I do like the final result.

So I might have cheated a bit since I decided on this project when I saw my local library was doing it as a class. They do a lot of teenager/adult crafting classes where all the supplies are given and some is either brought in or the staff teaches it. When we arrived the canvases were already on the tables and there was blue, red, white, black and some orange. I started with the blue canvas, doing random lighter and darker spots. I do wish I would have done a bit darker array of blue though instead of mixing in so much white. After letting it dry which didn't take long since it's acrylic paint I then started with the white paint for the trees. Then add birds. The first two coats didn't turn out that well and so I ended up going home and finishing my art final project. I actually used the acrylic paints from my post about non-traditional art supplies to give the birds more red, add a beak and put tan blotches on the birch trees, and used a sharpie to give the trees lines and outline them. Although I kind of wish I hadn't outlined them because they look a bit too cartoon like.
Ending this with two random photos of my African Grey Elizabeth, just because the painting has birds and she is also a bird. And because I had the photos on my phone already.
