"If there is no struggle there is no progress" Art Project

 Something you might remember me complaining about is my art appreciation class. It's often a lot of work that seems kind of pointless, which is exactly how I felt going into this project.  We were told we could do anything but that it had to meet one of the fundamental roles of an artist. Since I can't draw, paint or create sculptures, I wisely went with photography. I went into a heavy construction area, and started taking pictures of the neighborhood. Once this was done I made the photo black and white except for three elements. Then I took a cheap wooden frame and sanded it down in spots, and made the matting out of stained cardboard.
