Making Simple Spicy Hummus

As you might be able to tell I've been getting a bit more into cooking. Since it is Friday I decided I could share with you guys a very simple recipe (like 10 minutes or less total time) for making a spicy hummus dip. As you can see in the picture above I like to pair mine with vegetables like carrots and peppers.

  • 2 Cans of Chick Peas
  • 1 Cups Lemon Juice
  • 5 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Sesame Paste (tahini)
  • 3 Tablespoons liquid from chick peas
  • Hot Sauce
  • Paprika

The first step to making this hummus is draining out the water on the chick peas. I put a bowl under the strainer so I could capture the excess. Then use a garlic press to press the cloves into a bowl. Add in chick peas, the lemon juice, salt and mustard paste and start blending with a stick blender, so you have less work in the food processor (if you have a manual one like me). After processing the hummus for awhile add in the water from the chick pea can and add hot sauce and paprika for flavor. Then process a bit more. Then it's done, and ready to serve in a bowl.
