Normally I'm not a big fan of Toms, at all. I prefer flats. Whenever I see people wearing them, I cringe. Unfortunately a lot of the people I know don't feel the same way I do, and they wear them constantly. One of the reasons they cite for liking the shoes, is that for every pair bought, one pair is donated to a child in need. Originally I assumed that they were giving shoes based on what the child would need due to their location, a Russian child would need a different kind of shoe than Brazilian one, but after looking at their site I found out this is not the case. They give all of them Toms. Toms are indoor shoes, so I can only imagine the amount of rocks and thorns that can be felt through them when an African child is walking to school in the mornings. This also means you're paying double the price for your shoes, a fantastic idea if you ask me. The who donation thing seems more like a publicity thing than a company actually caring.
After my rant, you may be wondering why I'm doing an outfit post centered around Toms, or even with one of their products at all. Well to tell the truth I kind of like this particular shoe of theirs and since a ton of people wear them I figured it wouldn't be such a bad thing to do this outfit guide.
- Ripped Skinny Jeans, MissRebel - $30 Jeans are my go to bottoms and really they are the only thing I can think of that looks nice with Toms. I've seen both skirts and dresses done, and I can honestly say that I hate how it looks. Since this particular shoe is a little bit more delicate I decided to pair it with very destroyed jeans. As a tip, only wear jeans with this may holes if you're going to wear something underneath it.
- Crochet Classic, Toms - $58 The main reason I liked this shoe was because the crochet. I'm not really sure if you're supposed to wear socks or not. I know for sure that one of my friends does not, and I guess that it does have both the heel and the toe covered, but really? I think seeing feet is a little gross, although maybe its not that bad.
- Bone Cuff, Tiffany and Co - $495 As I expressed in my Tiffany and Co Haul, I really cannot get enough of this brand and I don't think I'm alone in that. I've actually been thinking about getting one of these for awhile, since my wrists are so small though this one would not fit, so I'd have to get the silver version which is about $400 more. Life isn't fair sometimes.
- Resolve Jacket, The North Face - $90 Since its still freezing where I live I decided to use a jacket for the top, and because I didn't feel like making this post any longer I'll leave what to wear underneath up to you. Basically I really like the brand for cold weather wear, and I thought that the bright pink was a nice contrast to the grey.
