Today, almost right after school I had to go to the college that I want to attend to take a math placement test. Since its Wednesday I left school half an hour early so I figured that would give me enough time to eat and then take a nap but I only ended up getting one of those things done. I ended up being half an hour early. Half an hour that I could have been taking a nap. But since I got there I decided to go inside the building early instead of sitting in my car, which was a smart idea because they let me start early.
I thought that it was going to be like when I took the ACT but it was actually much less structured than that. It was a little weird though because when I went to check in they actually took my ID card (don't worry they gave it back when I finished) and unlike the SAT and ACT I didn't need to bring a calculator or a pencil. Both were provided for me. Another thing that was different was the treatment of my phone. They had a little room right in front of the testing area where there were lockers and they gave me a key to one and I had to lock my phone inside. It didn't really make sense to me. A little to secure maybe?
The test wasn't timed and I think I took about two hours doing it. I knew most of the stuff on the test but the Geometry (or maybe it was calculus) was terrible. A lot of people have to take the English portion as well, but I didn't have to. I'm not sure if it's because I passed the English AP test or if its because I did amazing on the Reading part of the SAT. Either way good for me.
When I got out though it was freezing. All I had on was a long sleeved coat. And I had to walk like a 1/4 of a mile to my car in the dark. I'm just glad it is like a no crime area. That's one thing I love about the U.S (maybe I'll blog about it). Anyways I really need to start wearing a winter coat. I could have died. Not really, but still.
